The bulk waste will be collected from the high-density residential areas before the Chinese New Year period.
The waste will then be sent for disposal at SWM Environment's waste disposal plant in Seelong, Senai.
SWM Environment general manager Adnan Ibrahim said the service was an effort to provide an avenue for residents, especially during the approaching festive season.
"The company realised that come any festive season, uncollected rubbish tend to pile up on certain days," he said during the launch of the programme.
Adnan said that it was natural for people, even before the festival itself, to do spring-cleaning.
"We are confident that there will be many households who will be busy spring-cleaning in preparation for Chinese New Year," he said.
The waste disposal programme is part of SWM Environment's festive strategy to assist in improving cleanliness in Johor Baru.
The waste disposal programme, which ends on Feb 13, targets areas within the jurisdiction of the Johor Baru Municipal Council (MBJB) and also the Johor Baru Central Municipal Council (MPJBT).
The areas covered by the programme are Taman Perling, Taman Bukit Indah, Taman Desa Cemerlang, Taman Mutiara Rini and Taman Pulai Utama.
