The talk focused on five main social ills -- snatch thefts, drug abuse, prostitution, illegal entertainment outlets and illegal video game outlets.

Organising chairman Tey Chee Kiong said it was important to get rid of the social ills to ensure a peaceful life for all families.

"The current education system lacks counselling and sex education.

"This year, many cases were highlighted in newspapers on students engaging in immoral activities. Some of these were even circulated through handphones.

"This indicates that many students lack the ability to tell what is morally right and wrong," he said.

Pulai Sebatang assemblyman Tee Siew Kiong advised students to be disciplined and stay away from negative elements. He urged them to tap their potential to do useful things in life.

Tee donated RM3,000 to the federation for future activities.
