Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim, Ramli Sarip and Jay Jay, from the group Carefree, will be performing in a dinner concert at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre (PJICC) on Dec 4.
A performance by Jay Jay will be the curtain raiser to the show which is dubbed "An evening with Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim featuring Ramli Sarip". They will be backed up by a six-piece band.
Khadijah said fans could expect a surprise when she performs a string of hits which will be mainly from her earlier albums in the 1970s.
"They can expect me to sing Doa buat kekasih and Kupendam sebuah duka and Kusangka siang kiranya malam with Ramli Sarip," she said.
Khadijah stressed that it would be different from any of her previous shows.
After emerging on the Malaysian music scene in 1978, she quickly rose to stardom with chart-topping songs and mesmerising live performances.
The first Malaysian female singer to be signed up by WEA (now Warner Music), Khadijah recorded 18 acclaimed albums in Malay and English.
Later, she became the country's cultural ambassador. She was also the voice-over artist for the highly successful Tourism Malaysia advertising campaign "Malaysia, Truly Asia".
Ramli, a respected producer, singer and composer who is regarded as the father of Malaysian rock, said: "The show allows us to express our passion for local music and a way to help promote the local music scene.
"I would like to invite music fans from all the states and Singapore to come to the show."
The legendary singer is renowned for his ability to switch from energetic rock numbers on his electric guitar to rhythmic renditions on traditional Malay instruments such as the gendang and rebana.
He said moderation in his dietary habits and a rigorous exercise regime had kept him going for the last three decades.
He said a performer who wants to excel in his career must be aware of his strengths and weaknesses and constantly strive to improve himself. Ramli's experience and life's lessons were the performer's true teachers.
Some 2,000 fans are expected to turn out for the show which is jointly organised by PJICC and Puteri Pacific Johor Baru hotel.
PJICC general manager Roslan Ab Rahman said the show was the first of its kind to be performed at the centre since it opened in 2006.
He added that it was part of PJICC's long-term objective to bring the best Malaysian talents down south.
The show begins at 8.30pm at the Convention Hall, Level 3 and ticket prices are RM180, RM225 and RM295.
