KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower against a rejuvenated US dollar in early trading today on lack of demand, dealers said.
At 9.15am, the local unit stood at 4.2220/2240 against the greenback, from Monday’s close of 4.2155/2185.
Meanwhile, the ringgit was higher against most other major currencies.
It appreciated against the yen to 3.7623/7644 from Monday's 3.7699/7729, and rose slightly against the Singapore dollar to 3.1170/1194 from 3.1171/1197 yesterday. It improved against the British pound to 5.5937/5972 from 5.6054/6098 on Monday, but depreciated against the euro to 4.9739/9780 from 4.9692/9745 previously. -- BERNAMA
