MERCEDES-Benz launched six new Mercedes-AMG 43 series models on Thursday at the Sepang International Circuit.
The performance models are the Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC, SLC 43, C 43 4MATIC, C 43 4MATIC CoupÈ, GLC 43 4MATIC and GLC 43 4MATIC CoupÈ.
All the models are powered by Mercedes’ 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine tuned for performance by AMG
With increased charge pressure, the power output of the engine has been bumped up to 367hp with 520Nm of torque.
The tuned engines give the performance models acceleration times of between 4.6 - 4.9 seconds to the century dash.
Visually, the red aluminium inserts in the engine cover are an identifying feature with a specific badge for the 43 series models. The E 43 4MATIC is further uprated to 401hp.
All the 43 series models are also equipped with 9G-TRONIC transmissions paired to the V6.
The cars also feature AMG ride control sports suspension with AMG-specific axle components and continuous damping adjustment which can be set to three damping levels - “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport Plus” at the touch of a button on the centre console.
This allows the driver to choose a wide spread of suspension settings which range between sporty driving experience and high levels of comfort.
On the GLC 43 CoupÈ 4MATIC and E 43 4MATIC, which are equipped with the multi chamber air AMG sports suspension, different height levels can be set.
The AMG Handling Package with AMG rear axle differential lock is available in the SLC 43 for improved traction in all driving situations.
