HE has starred in popular Hollywood films and United States television series, but you may just see South Korean-American actor Ki Hong Lee in a K-drama soon.
The star is in South Korea to promote his film, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, the third and final instalment of The Maze Runner movie franchise.
Apparently, he was approached by the production team of K-drama series Prometheus.
One of the producers said, “We offered casting. He responded positively and we are seriously discussing the possibility of him playing one of the main characters.”
Set to air on the South Korean channel KBS, Prometheus is said to be a grand-scale action thriller with a budget of 30 billion won (RM112 million).
It centres on the disappearance of North Korea’s top scientists who hold information on their country’s nuclear arsenal. Many countries, including South Korea, send their agents to locate and recruit the scientists for their own purposes.
Prometheus is produced by Choi Ji-young, who was responsible for several hit K-dramas, such as Iris, The Slave Hunters and The Princess’ Man.
Apart from The Maze Runner film series, Lee’s acting credits include Netflix’s series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and TV series Blue Bloods and NCIS.
