HAVING bagged the Best Vocal award for three consecutive years at TV3’s Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) since 2014, singer Dayang Nurfaizah said she was not discouraged for not taking home any trophy at last month’s AJL.
“Taking part in AJL is something that I look forward to.
“Each time I release a single or album, I wonder how far my work will take me, and whether it will it take me to AJL again,” she said at a press conference for her upcoming Secretary’s Week show, held at Hotel Tenera in Bangi, recently.
Dayang, 36, will team up with King of Pop Datuk Jamal Abdillah for the event called “Luncheon With The Stars – In Celebration of Secretary’s Week 2018” on April 25.
“We will each have our own segment. But, there are no plans for a duet. While I like Sandarkan Pada Kenangan, I do not think I can pull it off because of the high notes. It will not be a problem for Jamal though.”
Dayang’s focus is on promoting three tracks from her self-titled album (released last year), which have been picked as theme songs for television dramas and a film.
They are Dia (for TV3’s drama series Dia), Takdir (for Astro’s drama series Syurga Yang Kedua and Layarlah Kembali (for Primeworks Studios’ film Pulang).
