KUALA LUMPUR: Ev Ting has come a long way since his defeat to Russian Marat Gafurov in May last year, and is eager to prove a point at ONE Championship's Unbreakable Warriors at Stadium Negara on September 2.

The featherweight fighter will face Australian Rob Lisita in the main bout on a fight card which also features fellow Malaysians Peter Davis, Ann Osman, Saiful Merican, Agilan Thani, Muhammad Aiman Raziz Affindi, Hisyam Samsudin as well as brothers Gianni and Keanu Subba.

Ev said he has great respect for Lisita, who holds a 14 win and eight loss record in the sport, but has no doubt he is capable of notching another victory and strengthen his claim for a title shot.

"I learnt a lot from that Gafurov fight; it exposed a lot of holes in my ground game and I have improved in a lot of areas since then," said the 27-year-old, when met at the Unbreakable Warriors launch in Kuala Lumpur today.

"I have a much different game plan this time and I definitely feel I can connect.

"Rob is not an easy opponent, he finishes a lot of his opponents and he has a ruthless and aggressive attitude.

"I will give him respect but at the same time I feel I am better technically, faster and am stronger than he is so it is only a matter of time before I pick him apart.

"If I win this fight convincingly, I feel I deserve a title shot. It does not matter who I have to fight, I will take it."

Gafurov is the reigning world featherweight champion.

Ev claimed convincing victories over Philippine duo Honorio Banario (Tigers of Asia) and Eric Kelly (Clash of Heroes), both via submission, in his last two fights to improve his record to 11-3.

Meanwhile, Davis, who has yet to get in the cage this season, will fight Thailand's Shannon Wiratchai while Ann will face off with Filipino April Osenio in the two other highly anticipated fights on the night.

For the first time in Malaysia, the event will also feature live performances from Faizal Tahir and Ella.
