BACHOK: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today that he wants to see the Bachok district, and Kelantan as a whole, developed.

Najib said he has been asked why he recently allocated many projects in Bachok, including a university and a RM140 million hospital.

"I did it because it is my responsibility, and I love the Kelantan people," he said at the launch of the ‘Jom Bantu Rakyat’ programme, and ground breaking ceremony for the hospital at Kampung Bator, Jelawat, here today.

Najib mentioned that “a previous Prime Minister” had said that the people of Kelantan should be taught a lesson (for not supporting BN), and the development allocation for the state should be reduced.

Najib said he, however, raised the development allocation for the state to RM12.1 billion under the 11th Malaysia Plan, compared to RM5.3 billion in the previous plan.

"The government must be fair and the votes are secondary, although it will be good if we win.

"We want to see Bachok and Kelantan developed. Bachok has a lot of potential and the people are good in their work," he added.
