KUCHING: Lee Chong Wei is just one match away from attaining his 13th Malaysia Open final, following his victory over South Korean youngster Jeon Hyeok Jin in the quarter-finals on Friday.

The 35-year-old world No 1, did not disappoint a packed house at the Perpaduan Stadium at Petra Jaya, bringing home a 21-11, 21-14 win in 44 minutes to check into the last four stage.

Chong Wei's path to the final on Sunday, was also made easier following the withdrawal of reigning Olympic champion Chen Long of China who sustained a wrist injury prior to his quarter-final match against Hong Kong's Vincent Wong.

Chong Wei, who was expected to take on Chen Long, will face the Hong Kong shuttler instead in the semi-finals on Saturday.
