About 50 friends came to pay their last respects to 21-year-old Goh Xin Xi today, who fell to his death while attempt­ing to enter his room on the 7th floor of his hostel building.

GEORGE TOWN: The remains of a Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Unimap) student who fell to his death while attempting to enter his room on the 7th floor of his hostel building, was cremated at the Mount Erskine Cantone­se Cemetery today.

About 50 of his friends came from the campus in their university bus to pay their last respects to 21-year-old Goh Xin Xi today.

The body arrived at the Leng How Koe Funeral Parlour from Perlis on Thursday.

His body was then br­ought to Mount Erskine Cantonese Cemetery about 1.30pm to be cremated.

Family members and relatives sobbed during the prayers for the deceased.

On Wednesday, Goh is be­lieved to have slipped and fell while trying to enter his room via a narrow ledge next to a window in the outside corridor about 2.45pm.

He died on the spot. The police have classified the incident as sudden death.
