KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says he has no knowledge of a raid on Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s residence last night.
The former prime minister’s condominium unit at the Pavilion Residences in Jalan Langgak Duta here was raided about 10pm by police.
“I did not get the information (on Najib’s house raid),” Dr Mahathir said, but added that police had good reason to raide the home.
“The police have their own standard operating procedure.
“My instruction is very clear, that is not to torture people but treat them equally,” Dr Mahathir told a press conference at Menara Yayasan Selangor here.
Earlier, Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Amar Singh had confirmed that Najib’s home was searched.
It is understood that police were looking for evidence and documents.
