KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan has urged Pakatan Harapan to be transparent and announce their choice of prime minister-designate.

Its Youth chief Tan Keng Liang said voters have the right to know who has the opposition pact chosen to be the prime minister if they were to win the next general election.

"This is one of the most important and fundamental information that a voter needs to know before making his or her choice for the country.

"There is no reason for Pakatan Harapan to continue hiding the identity of their designated prime minister unless they don’t have a good candidate in hand."

Tan said this in response to jailed PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement that he would not offer himself for the post of prime minister should Pakatan Harapan win the 14th General Election.

"So, who is Pakatan Harapan’s choice now as their designated prime minister for the upcoming general election?

"Is it our former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad?" Tan asked.
