JOHOR BARU: Incumbent Skudai assemblyman Dr Boo Cheng Hau has indicated his desire to retain his seat and defend it in the 14th General Election.
The two term DAP assemblyman said he had requested to remain in the state seat and had no plans to contest in any other seats in the state.
"I have no intention to go anywhere else," Dr Boo told NSTP.
In the 13th general election, Dr Boo defeated Barisan Nasional's Liang Ah Chy with a 18,050 majority. He garnered 33,692 votes while Liang received 15,642 votes.
Dr Boo's position is up in the air as he is seen not aligned with the Lim Kit Siang-Lim Guan Eng faction in the DAP.
The former Johor Opposition Leader also failed to make the cut in the DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) re-election last November.
He also failed secure a place in the state’s 15-man DAP committee in 2015, causing him to resign as the Opposition Leader.
It was reported as saying that he had to resign because of the intense backstabbing that has taken place in the state DAP.
