PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian youths have been urged to provide fresh ideas, give creative input, and share their aspirations with Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor made the call today during a gathering with Malaysian youth activists and National Undergraduates Leadership members.
“By doing so, it will ensure Umno and BN remained relevant and something the people can rely on.
“All your input is crucial in order that BN led the nation effectively not just today but in the future,” she said before a crowd of some 300 people at the Seri Perdana complex.
Rosmah also said youths must be ready to embrace bigger responsibilities once the time came for them to take over the country’s leadership.
“You should have the mindset and ideas on how best to build Malaysia to become more progressive and prosperous in the future,” she said.
She added that youths should be experts in various fields that would enable them to steer Malaysia to greater heights.
On what the BN-led government had done and pledged for Malaysian youths, Rosmah listed some of them including providing additional 50,000 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) related jobs via TVET bootcamp which would be created with future employers.
She also said BN had never taken the needs of youths lightly and this was demonstrated through the slew of initiatives and programmes dedicated to young Malaysians.
“It is a known fact that BN is committed to uphold the youths’ wellbeing especially in the aspects of career, owning a home and skills training.
“The coalition’s commitment towards the needs of youths is not seasonal,” she said.
