KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir is willing to helm the state FA once again.
He said he did not mind being given any post in the Kedah FA (KFA) as the main focus is to ensure the state team are developed accordingly.
"If the fans feel that I am suitable to lead KFA as their president, I accept their suggestion.
“However, I also need to see whether that is required or whether it is sufficient for me to just provide external assistance.
"Previously, in Pakatan Harapan's manifesto, we promised that we would review the involvement of politicians in KFA because it was among the causes for the state football to suffer.
“Nevertheless, I leave the decision to KFA’s management and the fans," said Mukhriz on Monday.
He added that he wants KFA to be managed by professionals.
Kedah are currently sixth in the standings with 15 points.
