KUALA LUMPUR: With four wins under her belt, Natasha Andrea Oon capped off her 2017 season with a bang as she prepares for collegiate golf next year.

Natasha secured a scholarship to study at San Jose State University in California in mid-2018.

On Friday, the 16-year-old won the Division A category of the BRI Junior Pondok Indah International Junior Golf Championship in Jakarta.

"I’m really happy to win even though I lost overall by just one stroke. However, it was still great,” said Natasha, who finished behind Sea Games gold medalist and 14-year-old Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand.

Natasha's other titles in 2017 were the Selangor Amateur Open and Perak Amateur Open along with the national qualifiers for the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, where she finished 67th.

Natasha, who is ranked third in Malaysia, is aiming for more titles, professional events and a shot at representing the country in the Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018.

“I will train and play in amateur tournaments before I head to San Jose to attend college.

"I hope to perform even better next year," Natasha added.
