SEPANG: Speculation surrounding Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah’s move up to the premier MotoGP class is nearing the end when Sepang International Circuit (SIC) announced that former Moto3 rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin will take up the spot vacated by the SIC Racing rider.

Hafizh who prior to this was contracted to SIC Racing to feature in the Moto2 class for the 2018 season, has been linked with a move to the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team to replace Jonas Folger who is facing health issues.

Today, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chief executive officer, Datuk Razlan Razali through a media statement, confirmed Zulfahmi’s participation in the Moto2 class, therefore further fueling speculation of Hafizh’s move up to MotoGP – and it is understood that an official announcement about the second rider apart from Johann Zarco will only be made known by the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team sometime in the near future.
